Patrol ZD30 to TD42 Conversions

The Nissan ZD30 engine has a poor reputation for durability, primarily related to the negative effect of its emission system.

If the regrettable has happened and the ZD30 has failed, instead of rebuilding it, our recommendation is to consider converting to the 6 cylinder variant that was available in the same model. The TD42, TD42T and TD42Ti have an inviable reputation for reliability.

The result is a long term low maintenance Patrol, great for towing, without all the issues surrounding the smaller ZD30.

Both manual and automatic vehicles can be converted.

The conversion uses all Nissan components from the gearbox forward – bell-housing, engine, starter, alternator, AC & PS pumps, belts, pulleys, hoses and engine mounts – all like a factory TD42.

The conversion looks factory, drives like factory.

More importantly, if any maintenance or servicing is required, you need only order the part to suit the original GU TD42 variant, no matter if you’re in Broome or back o’ Bourke.
