ARB Roof Rack range has been designed with strength, durability and good looks foremost in mind. The load carrying capacity of a roof rack and its ability to withstand the rigours of 4WD driving is highly dependent upon its design, mounting system and choice of materials.
An ARB Roof Rack allows you to carry all the extra gear needed when touring that is either unsuitable or unsafe for the interior of the modern 4WD, but without the cost or off-road limitations imposed by towing a trailer.
The ARB Roof Rack range includes Steel & Alloy in-house manufactured, Thule and Rhino brand options.
ARB 4×4 TOURING RACK MODELS
Deluxe Rack 4 sided basket style
Tradie Rack 2 sides only, open ends style
Flat Rack flat platform style
Touring or Roof Top tent style 3 sided basket on front end of rack, tent fits to the rear
All ARB Alloy racks have 3mm wall thickness, oval formed tubing, cross tubes spaced approximately every 300mm. The ‘amplimesh’ style floor is standard. The oval formed tubing looks good and will not crack even after extended vibration or due to heavy loads.
The mesh floor is supported by multiple cross tubes meaning more load can be carried without the floor sagging. Two people are easily supported for loading purposes.
Powdercoated dark metal flake grey with anticorrosive undercoat.
ARB Steel racks are of a similar tube construction and finish. Mesh is an option on some ARB Steel rack models.
ARB Roof Rack mounting is model dependent. Either separate legs will bolt into existing holes or clasp onto the gutter, others have a ‘backbone’ option where support rails are mounted to the roof into existing holes, or drilled through the roof in models without existing holes (Note: roof lining may be disturbed during fitting on these models).
ARB has a range of Roof Rack options including Jerry Can holder, Shovel & Hilift Jack Holder, and Tradie Loading Roller.
Many of the ARB and Rhino racks are common to different models, so when upgrading vehicles, it can be a cost saving to purchase just new mountings rather than a complete rack.

RHINO-RACK

Rhino-Racks utilise a powder coated reinforced alloy construction with extruded alloy cross beams, approximately 150mm wide. The design of the extrusion makes it light weight yet strong and durable.
The beams are slotted so a variety of accessories can be used, making it a very versatile rack option.
Options include Luggage Bags, Jerry Can Holders, Spare Wheel Holders, Shovel and Hilift Jack holders.
The Rhino-Rack is a bit more stylish in many people’s eyes, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
Rhino-Racks can mount onto separate crossbars or a ‘backbone’ style mount (on some models, similar to the ARB system), where support rails are mounted to the roof into existing holes, or drilled through the roof in models without existing holes (Note: roof lining will be disturbed during fitting on some models)
