Why fit a Bull Bar at all?
ARB manufactures a range of Steel, Alloy and Poly Bull Bars to compliment vehicle appearance whilst maintaining functionality.
ARB Bull Bars are fitted for many reasons, primarily of course for frontal protection, (from animal strikes), but also provide mounting for aerials, spot lights and winches.
With modern day vehicles being so attractive, nobody wants the appearance spoiled by an agricultural looking Bull Bar.
ARB Bull Bar engineering takes into consideration a range of factors, including air bag deployment, panel crush rate, approach angles, overall strength vs weight, vehicle design and aesthetics. They are thoroughly tested to validate safety compliance and compatibility with modern adaptive cruise control, parking sensors and collision avoidance systems.
Winch mountings are not only winch compatible, they are winch rated to a specified capacity.
ARB Bull Bar design has been market leader for decades, and as such, has often been copied with lesser quality replicas. The use of thinner low quality steel, lighter chassis mountings without engineering, are construction features the unwitting buyer may not be aware of, but the experienced eye will note these shortcomings.

ARB Summit Bull Bar
The ARB Summit Bull Bar range is the latest contemporary look from ARB. This innovative design continues the ARB tradition of engineering and production of high quality, high functionality, high visual appeal frontal protection systems. Built on the success of its forefathers, the ARB Deluxe Bull Bar.
ARB Deluxe Bull Bar
ARB was the innovator of the Deluxe Bull Bar design, with loads of features now considered standard, ARB’s the most extensive model range, winch and non-winch models.
Bull Bar Design

There are a number of Bull Bar options for most vehicles, but maximum protection is going to come from any of the ‘A’ frame design ARB Bull Bars, particularly the Summit Bull Bar.
The bumper section on all ARB Bull Bars is comprised of 3 parts, 2 wings and a centre section. All 3 join and are welded to the 4mm thick lower upright sections, which form part of the 3 dimensional chassis mounting system.
The ‘A’ frame design bar is so called as the upper upright looks like a capital ‘A’ when viewed side on.
The additional strength of the ‘A’ frame design lies in the fact that the upright continues up from the mounting system to the top of the bull bar.
Hence, the upper part of the upright, (a flat 4mm thick steel sheet), is side on to any frontal impact, making it extremely resistant to folding back onto the body work, the primary function for most bull bars!
With tube design bars, the tube hoops are welded to the upper part of the bumper section and do not form any part of the mounting system.
So, any impact on the top of say, the centre tube, has a lot of leverage, lending itself to folding the tubular pipe work onto the panels, from the top of the bumper sections.
Of course, like Colour Coding, its personal choice, and some vehicles are more suited to the Big Tube design than others, and some users are only looking to mount lights and aerials with some additional front bumper strength, rather than maximum vehicle protection.
